Bacchus Hill Winery offers a complete country winery experience. It has a warm welcoming and relaxed family atmosphere. They have excellent award winning wines; traditional slow cooked and modern meals; home grown and home made provender products and they conduct winery tours at different times of the year. Their Italian heritage ensures that there is an added dimension to Bacchus Hill Winery. The extensive range of cool climate wines are made with passion and attention to detail by Bruno Tassone the winemaker. Son Mark, is the head Chef, and his passion is to create dishes using their house grown products including free range pork, goat, chickens and eggs and fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables, whilst incorporating their wines, ciders, vinegars and provender products. Themed Dinners, like Carnevale, Winemaker's and Spring Degustation are his specialty. The location is on a major tourist route off the Western Highway in Bacchus Marsh, and is less than 50 minutes from Victoria's three largest cities, Melbourne, Ballarat, and Geelong. The cellar door is easy to find, the tourist will first enjoy a short two kilometre drive on a gently winding country road leading to the cellar door and it enjoys spectacular, unparalleled panoramic views of the Bacchus Marsh valley patchwork of market gardens, orchards, Mount Anakie, You Yangs, Brisbane Ranges and the Macedon ranges. You are then eagerly greeted by Leonardo, the family Dalmatian. Once at the cellar door, you may enjoy tastings, a glass or wine, coffee or meals. There is a wood fired pizza oven, courtyard for al fresco dining, a warming wood fire for chilly winter evenings. Casual lunches occur Thursday through to Sunday, and the famous, Local's Pizza and Pasta Night on Sunday evenings, and themed dinners during the year.
